In response to growing inquiries from patients who live in other parts of the United States, Canada, and other countries, we have designed a program to meet the needs of this new patient population. Advanced Knee Care teams with health care professionals in Phoenix-Scottsdale to provide a full service, single payment option for self pay patients traveling to Scottsdale for Knee Replacement treatments. We provide high quality customer care in a state of the art hospital, and use the most advanced technology such as Minimally Invasive, Computer Navigated Total Knee replacement and Mako Robotic Unicompartmental and Bicompartmental Partial Knee replacement. Importantly, we continue to communicate with your primary care physician in your hometown to coordinate your care, just as if you were referred from across town.

Knee Replacement Packages include scheduled Physical Therapy and Nursing Care provided in Phoenix-Scottsdale. We make it easy for you by offering a comprehensive package that provides resort lodging and all transportation to and from the airport, hotel, hospital and clinics. Meals will be included. Here are the details for the knee surgery:

It is determined that the patient is a candidate for Knee Replacement surgery by consulting with a physician in their home town (or by visiting Scottsdale for a consultation with Dr. Tarlow).
Prospective Patient makes contact with Advanced Knee Care by “Contact Us” or by phone to Direct Scheduling Line - (480) 225-2343.
Knee Xrays from the home town Physician are sent Electronically to Dr. Tarlow for review.
Patient contacts Advanced Knee Care to provisionally schedule visit in clinic / surgery date in Scottsdale with Direct Scheduling line – (480) 225-2343.
15 minute Phone Consultation, prior to Scottsdale visit, with clinical staff is scheduled.
Preoperative physical exam by primary care physician and/or Specialist such as Cardiologist is completed in hometown. Pre operative lab work in hometown including CBC, Basic Metabolic Panel, PT/INR, Urinalysis with Culture if needed, EKG and Chest Xray. Medication instructions given by primary care and reviewed by Dr. Tarlow.
Patient arrives in Scottsdale Thursday ahead of Friday office visit and Surgery the following Monday or Tuesday. Patient will stay in Scottsdale for 10 days prior to returning home.
Follow up in Scottsdale 2-3 months after surgery.
Hometown care coordinated with your local primary care physician.

Health Insurance coverage in the USA

For patients with Health Insurance coverage in the United States the program would be modified as the single payment option would not be feasible. Dr. Tarlow fee covered by insurance if in network or by Fee Schedule-available on request- if out of network (Medicare and Medicare Replacement plans). All other providers and facilities will bill insurance if in network (all are in network for Medicare and Medicare Replacement plans). Patient will be provided assistance for lodging and transportation. All other details remain the same.
